ILIAN ARVELO
VENEZUELAN MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST
BASED IN MIAMI

Ilian Arvelo is a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist born in Caracas and based in Miami. She studied Fine Arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and contemporary dance in Caracas. Her practice encompasses performance, video, photography, installation, and new media, exploring memory, migration, identity, transformation, and the relationship between the body and territory.

Her work has been presented internationally at the Venice Biennale Sessions, Venice Architecture Biennale, Miami New Media Festival, Photo Alicante Festival, Art Palm Beach, and Arturo Michelena Biennial.

Recent projects include Cartografía de la Memoria, Full Red, Vertebrates, and Shifting Latitude. In 2026, she presented the video artwork Virgin with Termites with the Glacsystems Collective at the Pavilion of New Guinea during the Venice Biennale.

Arvelo is currently an artist-in-residence at Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA), where she develops interdisciplinary, research-based projects.
